The Nortek CDU GPS Automotive Clock more commonly known as the GPS Bus & Coach Digital Clock (due to the fact that it is a popular product for use in Public Service Vehicle Applications) is a combined Digital Clock and Dual facility Passenger Information System suited for use in 12 / 24 v vehicles.

With the displayed time set and controlled by the Global GPS System, the GPS Digital Bus & Coach Clock is designed to not only relay the current time to Bus and Coach passengers, but also has the ability to automatically adjust to different time zones when travelling through other Countries.

Summer / Winter adjustments are also taken care of, and these are handled automatically, so you no longer have to carry out twice yearly manual BST / GMT adjustments within your fleet.

The GPS Bus & Coach Clock is available with the choice of either Red or Blue Sunlight readable displays, and UK / European and New Zealand variants can be specified. In common with all of the Nortek Automotive Product range, the CDU is designed and built in our Factory in the UK.

In comparison to other products on the market, as well as being an accurate means of conveying the current time to your passengers the Bus & Coach GPS clock comes with two independently controlled backlit decals used to convey passenger information visually.

On the standard product, these indicate ‘Fasten Seat belt’ and ‘Toilet Occupied’ icons, but can also be custom printed for other applications such as ‘Rest Stop’ for example, indicating approaching en-route passenger break stops, or a Hearing Loop ‘T’ symbol, conveying the presence of an onboard AFILS system.

The decal illumination can be individually switched either manually from the driver cab or by utilising external controls or equipment. The “Toilet Occupied” decal can be controlled either as part of an existing door lock mechanism switch, or by using a signal from the Nortek PIR Toilet Occupancy sensor as part of a wider installation.

The GPS Bus & Coach Clock is housed in a robust metal case and designed for plinth mounting. The smoked tempered glass front not only gives an aesthetic appearance and ensures longevity in a vehicle environment, but also helps to meet regulations for Smoke and Burning Behaviour in passenger carrying vehicles, the system is also Reg 10 EMC E-Mark approved.
